Nursing organizations play a vital role in supporting the nursing profession and advocating for nursing practice. They are responsible for the development and certification of nurses interested in improving health care and providing safe quality nursing care (Helbig, 2022). They help provide opportunities for continuing education, career development, a way to connect with other nurses, and career resources. They play a huge role in advocating for nursing practice by helping change laws and evidence-based practices to better support patients and nurses. They help provide research to improve evidence-based practices in healthcare. Without theses organizations in our corner healthcare would not be where it is today.
By advocating for improvements to evidence-based practice, pushing for changes in laws to improve healthcare, and providing a network of support for nurses to continue to expand their knowledge and play a vital role in improving healthcare are just some of the reasons why these organizations have a tremendous amount of value in advocacy and activism in client care.
