To propose a new cost-efficient approach for autonomous attendance in classroom environments, using Computer Vision Techniques, and to make this system record the attendance in a real-time video stream, taking very little time while being efficient.

1.2 Existing System

In the existing system, the faculties usually use pen and paper to record attendance. This process takes a considerable amount of time.

One more approach ib the existing system is the biometric finger prints approach, but people 2

need to stand in lines waiting for their turn to record the attendance.

One more existing approach is using sensors which is named as RFID approach, but in this one

need to buy a sensor and the people still need to wait in lines to get their turn.

One latest approach is the detection of faces, but few software companies are cashing this latest technology by selling their facial attendance product at ₹10000+, so we put check to those

companies.

1.3 Proposed System

In the proposed system, we develop a new-age system to record attendance in a classroom using the facial recognition techniques in Computer Vision Domain. This method will be both cost and time- efficient as no person need to stand in line for their turn to register the attendance and we need not buy any new hardware product, since we can use our own personal laptop and smartphone to achieve the functionality.

With our autonomous attendance system, there will be more time for the teachers to engage students in teaching. There will be less chance of performing mal practicing(proxy). The system is not only cheap but also time-efficient and easy to operate.
