Quality Improvement is the process of improving outcomes in the.

Quality Improvement is the process of improving outcomes in the health of the population. This requires that the health outcomes are consistent with current professional knowledge (CMS.gov, 2021). Public health initiatives encompass not only the elimination of diseases and injuries, but also the intersecting and overlapping factors that influence health. Some initiatives include the four behaviors which are poor diet, physical activity, smoking, and alcohol consumption (Nash et al., 2021). Physical activity can help growth and development, reduce the risk of various chronic diseases, and overall make people feel, function, and sleep better. Yet, the U.S National and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) shows that adults and children spend 55% of their wake time being sedentary (Nash et al., 2021 p. 160). Translational research can support the initiative of increasing activity by using this clear evidence and implementing change. An example I am aware of is the institution I work for built a gym where those in the community who are patients can go for little to know cost. This gives patients the initiative to use the facility and increases the chance of improving their overall health outcome. This can also be seen in regular gyms not affiliated with healthcare organizations giving a discount to seniors as well as classes on nutrition. Can you give a comment or feedback about this statement. With reference please.

This is the basis of her answer: Identify either a safety or quality improvement initiative related to improving population health. Explain how translational research can influence the development of the initiative. Include a specific example to support your response.
