When it comes to implementing evidence-based practice (EBP)

When it comes to implementing evidence-based practice (EBP), Alatawi et al., in a 2020 article, laid out a four-point plan that I hope to use in my practice. The first step is cultivating a culture of in inquiry (Alatawi et al., 2020); in this the nurse develops a clear clinical question on the patient’s problem. Then the nurse must search recent relevant article in what the patient may be experiencing (Alatawi et al., 2020). The next step is to sort out the information and then evaluate the information as it applies to the patient’s problem (Alatawi et al., 2020). Finally, the nurse will take the specific information that is best suited in the patient’s situation and implement it as it applies (Alatawi et al., 2020). Although not mentioned the article as a step, the nurse should then evaluate the success or lack thereof for future practice.
